Tell us what you want to learn
Tell us your coaching role, the age and experience of your athletes, training background, visit dates and the purpose of the session. Clear objectives help us discuss a suitable instructor and a realistic programme.

Fundamentals before intensity
Training may focus on posture, shiko, koshiwari, suriashi, teppo and suitable controlled partner work. More intensive practice can be requested for suitable participants. Discuss the content, level of contact and progression with your instructor in advance so the session matches your training experience.

Discuss the instructor profile
Our team draws on professional and competitive amateur sumo experience. Tell us if you are looking for a particular coaching background, former rank, language or number of athletes per instructor. Named instructors and former sekitori are subject to availability and separate confirmation.

Observation, questions and recording
Share whether you want to practise, observe teaching methods, discuss technique or combine these approaches. Ask permission before filming instructors or other participants. Specify any proposed use of recordings within your club.
What your training visit includes
Your visit focuses on the training and discussion agreed with your instructor. It does not include coaching certification, federation accreditation or access to an active professional stable. For international competition, refer to your federation’s current rules alongside what you learn here.
